Franciscos Koutentakis is the General Secretary for Fiscal Policy at the Greek Ministry of Finance. He studied Economics at the Universities of Athens, Warwick, Sciences-Po and Panteion and has been a lecturer of Public Economics at the University of Crete. In February 2015 he was appointed Chief Economic Advisor to the Prime Minister and moved to his current position in October 2015. As the Head of the General Accounting Office he oversees the general government budget preparation and execution, fiscal auditing and public debt/cash management. He is one of the top-level economic policy officials of the present government and participates actively in the bailout negotiations with the institutional creditors.
