Fergus McCormick is Head of Sovereign Ratings at DBRS where he manages a team of economists in New York, London and Toronto. He oversees the firm’s sovereign and supranational credit ratings, conducts macroeconomic and credit risk research on high income and emerging market economies, and communicates his views to investors, public officials, regulators and the press. Before joining DBRS, Fergus was an Economist at Morgan Stanley, a Global Equity Strategist at Bear Stearns, a Sovereign Analyst at Fitch Ratings and Duff & Phelps Credit Rating Co., and an Economist/Statistician at the Inter-American Development Bank. Fergus holds degrees from the Paul H. Nitze School of Advanced International Studies at Johns Hopkins University and Reed College. He is a dual U.S. and British citizen.
